TidalHealth Cancer – Chemo Clean Room Renovation

The Cancer/Chemo Clean Room is part of Peninsula Regional Medical Center’s (PRMC) Richard A. Henson Cancer Institute located in Salisbury, MD.  This Mechanical and electrical renovation included design services for heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning and supporting electrical systems.  Gipe Associates’ scope of services included design for a new air handling system with a humidifier served by the existing building’s chilled water system. Active room pressure controls were designed to maintain relative pressure differences required by each room.  New exhaust fans were designed to provide general exhaust as well as separate exhaust fans to serve the biological safety hoods.  This specialty compounding laboratory included specialized HEPA filters, laminar flow hoods, active room pressure controls, hazardous exhaust systems, and biosafety cabinets.

 Unique aspects of this Project Include: Specialty HVAC lab systems to handle hazardous chemicals, sterile instruments and equipment.
