Cherokee Lane Elementary School Commissioning
Gipe Associates provided LEED V.4 third party fundamental and enhanced commissioning services. LEED Enhanced commissioning requires a third party peer review, which Gipe Associates provided for the Cherokee Lane Elementary School. Gipe assisted the owner in developing documents such as the Owner’s Project Requirements, Basis of Design Document, and Commissioning Plan. Comprehensive peer reviews were conducted at both the 50% and 100% CD Phase. Gipe Associates provided construction document review comments to the Architect/Engineer of Record to review and incorporate items they felt benefited the project. Gipe provided written comments to the Architect and Engineer of Record noting any plans or specifications that appeared ambiguous, confusing, conflicting, or erroneous. The goal of this coordinated eff ort was to identify conditions that cause RFIs, added costs, or negative effects on the quality of construction. Gipe feels creating camaraderie with the design and construction team is a key element in any peer review. The overall goal is to create the best possible project for the Owner. While the peer review portion of this project is complete, the commissioning services are currently being provided.
