Gipe Associates, Inc. provided mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering services for the renovation and addition to the existing BU and CE Buildings to increase the buildings from 10,800 SF to 36,000 SF. The project was phased with the CE building being constructed as phase I and BU building being constructed under phase II. The proper heating, cooling, ventilation, air exchanges, and automatic temperature control/energy management systems were provided for all spaces to create the appropriate thermal environment. The HVAC system utilizes energy conservation techniques to the greatest extent possible, while maintaining comfortable control. Total SF 73,993 Total Cost for both buildings $20,782,303
BU building Comprehensive renovation and additions to a 10,640 GSF, 1 story classroom and office building, becoming a two story classroom and office building, totaling approximately 21,000 GSF. While its existing basement level boiler room will remain, the new construction over the existing foundations and floor slabs will house several new computer labs, general classrooms and faculty and staff offices.
CE building Comprehensive renovation and additions to a 10,880GSF, 1 story classroom and office building, becoming a two story classroom and office building, totaling approximately 45,000 GSF. The facility will house several new computer labs, general classrooms and faculty and staff offices
