Delaware Technical Community College Energy Education Building (New Construction)

Gipe Associates provided the mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection systems design, contract administration, and commissioning services for the 6,000sf Sustainable Energy Training Center at the Stanton Campus. The Center, an education facility for commercial energy management education and training, consists of three state-of-the-art classrooms, four interactive labs, and a multi-purpose room capable of hosting community workshops.

Equipped with solar systems, wind generator equipment and geothermal options, the Center provides students with a hands-on learning environment, which demonstrates and operates under the latest in sustainable energy technology.  The use of multiple systems in one facility provides valuable comparison data for learning and plied research.  In addition to being home to students pursing the College’s Energy Management associate degree, the Center also provides non-credit workshops, conferences and company-specific training.  The College also invites members of the community to view and learn about the practical applications of renewable energy technologies in the Center.  The Project has achieved LEED Gold Certification.  $2.9M / 6,000sf
