Eastern Correctional Institution – High Temp Hot Water Steam Distribution & Security Fencing

As the prime firm/engineer-of-record, Gipe Associates provided mechanical and electrical engineering services for the design of a new steam supply and condensing return piping from the steam generation plant to the Kitchen/Laundry facility. The system is a combination of above ground and below ground piping. After installing the new HTHW system, the existing piping system in place with selective removal of manholes/piping.

The project also included the design of a dual fence system with a fence-mounted electronic perimeter protection system. Approximately 6,072 linear ft. of fencing will be replaced on the outer perimeter fence. There will be in additional approximately 5,835 linear ft. being replaced on the inner perimeter fence. This design will also include replacing all pedestrian and vehicle gates. The perimeter patrol road will be maintained to allow for quick response of the perimeter patrol vehicles to all points along the perimeter.
