Greensboro Elementary School – New Construction

The new 91,500 square foot, two story, Greensboro Elementary School hosts grades Pre-K through 5th grade.   Gipe Associates designed the HVAC systems, power, interior lighting, lighting controls, site lighting, fire alarm, plumbing and fire protection systems.  The MEP systems for the school are housed in mezzanines interior the facility, prolonging equipment life by protecting it from the elements.  A series of MEP alternates were developed for the bidding phase to allow the Owner to select a preferred vendor for select equipment, while maintaining a competitive bid environment.  The project followed the International Green Construction Code (IgCC) for sustainability guidelines.
