Havre De Grace New Middle & High School

Gipe Associates provided the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection engineering design for the new Havre de Grace Middle/High School in Havre de Grace, Maryland. The new school replaces the existing Havre de Grace Middle School that was opened in 1967 and Havre de Grace High School that was opened in 1955. The new school was constructed in the sports fields across the street from the existing high school and adjacent to the middle school, which both remained operational during construction. The new middle/high school is separated into a three-story middle school wing and a three-story high school wing with all shared spaces centrally located along the first and second levels. The school contains a state-of-the-art auditorium, spacious gymnasium, a performance art wing, art and sculpture studio, business and computer science classrooms, black box theater, oversized cafeteria, and a high two-level ceiling media center.
