Joppatowne WWTP Upgrade
Electrical design and modifications to the plant’s Main Motor Control (MCC) center to remove starters and controls for two existing process air blowers. The project also involved the retrofit of the MCC with new feeder breakers to serve the new denitrification filter system, filters secondary influent pumping station, methanol feed system and sample pumps. Gipe also designed the secondary influent pump station control panel which included variable frequency drive controllers, wet well level controls and programmable logic controller. Power, control and interface connections for the denitrification filter system and methanol feed system based on manufacturer provided P&I drawings was also provided in the design. Design upgrades were incorporated into the plant’s existing SCADA system and with all I/O, process variables, alarm and status conditions, flow rates, levels, trends and control functionality from the new systems.
