Lyons Mill Elementary School (New Construction)

At the heart of Lyons Mill Elementary is a brightly-lit media center, designed as a versatile space for collaboration, enriched by natural light and direct connections to outdoor learning areas such as a reading garden and a rain garden, both featuring native plant species. This central area seamlessly links the academic wing with other communal facilities like the gymnasium and cafeteria, which can be merged via a movable partition to accommodate school-wide events, showcasing the design’s emphasis on versatility and community engagement.

The school’s commitment to sustainability is evident in its innovative design features, including the use of recycled materials, low-emission construction materials, support for alternative transportation through bicycle racks, a green roof system, geothermal HVAC, effective daylight utilization, LED lighting with motion sensors, and on-site solar energy production.
