Prince Frederick Rescue Squad No 4

A comprehensive program and renovation / addition was completed for the 22,000 square foot Rescue Squad No.4. The project initially began as an 18,000 square foot addition to an existing portion of the Rescue Squad. After careful consideration of the programmatic requirements of the rescue squad, soil conditions on the site, and code deficiencies in the building to remain, it was determined that a combination renovation and addition would best solve the building deficiencies. The design of the Rescue Squad maintains the foot print of the existing building on three sides and is expanded on the west. A brick façade was also maintained at the request of the volunteer squad and County.

The project included a partial demolition of the Rescue Squad #4 Station and a two story addition. The building renovation/addition project included three (3) ambulance bays, storage, watch room, catering kitchen, conference room, lounge, offices, training classrooms, bunk rooms, restrooms, and associated amenities for the volunteers. The addition included a new elevator and stairs.
