University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) – Wicomico Hall HVAC & Elevator Replacement

Gipe provided mechanical and electrical systems design and contract administration services for Wicomico Hall, a dormitory type facility at University of Maryland Eastern Shore.

The 20,000sf residence hall renovation included HVAC modifications such as new geothermal heating/cooling systems, new pumps, ventilation, and exhaust systems and geothermal domestic hot water heating was connected to the existing plumbing systems.  Plumbing/Fire protection modifications included wet based fire protection system design.  We corrected water issues in the basement and provide new piping and plumbing fixtures.   Cooling was provided for I.T. Rooms along with power and utilities for a new elevator.

Electrical alterations involved new interior and exterior lighting, power distribution feeders and panelboards, branch circuit wiring and devices, fire alarm system, lightning protection system, and new communications systems including voice, data, CATV and CCTV.
