Washington College Daniel Gibson Hall Performing Arts Building

Gipe Associates, Inc. provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems design and construction administration for the new Daniel Z. Gibson Performing Arts Center located at Washington College in Chestertown Maryland. Systems design included heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, power, interior lighting, site lighting, fire alarm, and security for the new Performing Arts Theatre and adjacent new Art Gallery.  Design for the Gallery included humidification/dehumidification control sequence to maintain proper humidity levels, a double interlocked pre-action fire suppression system, security system including closed circuit television system cameras, motion detectors and remote annunciator panels,  lighting layout and circuiting, power layout including receptacles, panels, and wire sizing, general HVAC design for the general spaces and three (3) different performance spaces, calculations, details, and control sequences, plumbing design, and fire protection system performance specifications.  The complex features the 440 seat Tawes Theater, a 175 seat experimental theater, and a 200 seat recital hall.  56,000sf / $24M
