Green Street Academy
The complete renovation of the former Gwynn Falls Park Junior High School, providing over 100,000 square feet of learning space and 8.75 acres of green space for Green Street Academy. Built in 1925, the building had not functioned as a school for over 30 years.
The mechanical systems, in concert with the architectural considerations create spaces that are flexible, functional, energy efficient and responds to the needs of this facility.
In this renovated facility, GSA is integrating student learning and community impact by providing state-of-the-art technology, science labs, and greenspace for hands-on environmental studies. The grounds also include an outdoor classroom, chicken coop and rain garden.
